Great iron for heavy duty work

Recommend also purchasing the Weller iron holder (PH100), as many off-brand and less expensive options don't fit the length or hold it steady while resting.

I use it for soldering connectors on large RC Lipo batteries that have 8 or 10 gauge leads. The tip power is regulated by Weller's simple magnetic switch system. I have a 62 watt Weller iron that I have used steadily since 1977 that runs on the same system. At the designed temperature the tip loses its magnetic attraction so the temperature control is fast and accurate. I am expecting the CT6F7 to last a long time.

This was the BEST deal! Despite having to pay $12 for shipping, it was such a low price that I decided to purchase 2 of these soldering irons and 2 tips. Great iron. I bought 2 different ones from the local national chain (HL) for about $20 a piece. I never thought that there would be that much difference in an iron. I was wrong. Spend your money wisely and buy this one. It's quality is superb compared to the local chain. It regulates the temperature and keeps the tip hot without burning it up. It really makes your work a lot easier.
