This meter is as reliable and useful as it was when I first used one in the Navy forty years ago.

There are many other digital meters that are very capable and useful but for a transmitter alignment where it is necessary to peak or null voltages, this works best for me.

Works great almost. Has same problem as all 260's. Battery will not stay in the contacts. Shim it in with foam between battery and lid helps a lot. Last meter movement broke because I smacked meter to hard to reset the battery in the socket. Battery problem is on going for decades with all the 260's!!! Operators manual should be printed on water resistant paper. Beep for continuity test is great idea, but frequency is to high for those of us with hearing loss from noise exposure. Simpson does support their product for repairs. I have two Fluke meters I can't get fixed. One is O scope with broken plastic BNC socket the other is bad battery terminal caused by leaking battery. Major $ lost because Fluke won't repair anything seasoned. Their approach is send us a few thousand dollars and we will fix you up! Simpson 260 will pay its way all day long, Fluke will cost you money and stack up on your junk shelf after you spend big bucks on an O scope that they wont fix!!! 260 is much easier to read in poor light and can be used as a crude capacitor checker, plus analog meter is much better for tuning circuits.
