Great Meter - Great Proce
5.0
This meter is accurate and easy to use. If you want a bench meter that has multiple connectivity options for remote use and automating testing, this will do the job.
The fan is barely audible in a quiet office and can't be heard at all in a normal lab. The only (minor) complaint I have is that the viewing angle on the display is not as wide as I would like. At about 45 degrees off-axis horizontally and 15 degrees vertically, it starts to fade. My instrument stack is above and to the left of my desk,.

This is a great value on a 6 1/2 digit multimeter. Accuracy and stability are great for this price.

New Bench meter with features, vs legacy used.
5.0
After spending days looking at legacy bench multi-meters on ebay, I decided on this new one from Rigol. It's extremely accurate, but it has features those old legacy units don't. I very happy with the unit. It's nice to know it's new, has a fresh calibration and you don't have to worry about a issue with a used on. Looks pretty nice on the bench too!

This is a good meter for the money
5.0
Got this as a replacement for my decades old 34401A. It's got a ton of new features I'm not quite dialed in on yet, but it's accurate and precise, and somehow I feel like the ohm meter is far and above my old meter for chasing those elusive shorts.

Versatile Backbone of My Bench
5.0
This is my workhorse meter. With relatively simple Python scripts I can control it remotely over my local ethernet and log measurements (in many cases current and voltage at the same time). The display is easy to read and the configurability has never left me wishing for more.

Accurate, bright display
4.0
Like me this meter. The sensor input comes in handy a lot more than I thought it would. It takes a bit to boot up for quick measurements. Then for the accuracy, let it cook for 30 minutes to settle down. Display is big enough for me to see, and is bright. Has the green blinking beacon power button.

A good value with good performance
4.0
I ordered this benchtop DMM for my home lab shortly after specifying the 5-1/2 digit version at work for a lab upgrade. I was pleased with the one at work, and decided to get one at home, too. I picked the 5-1/2 digit version at work because I had no justification for the extra accuracy for the projects I envisioned, so I picked the cheaper version out of a sense of fiduciary responsibility. I have no such restrictions for my home bench, so I bought the next tier model because I just plain wanted it. :)
I was especially happy with the AC voltage measurement frequency response. The specifications would lead me to expect it to work only up to 300kHz, but in my initial experiments on first power-up I found that it was 3dB down at around 1MHz, and still looked pretty flat at 500kHz. I didn't try to measure its ultimate accuracy there, but it was at least "eyeball close". So this meter will be more useful on my bench than I was expecting when I bought it, and I'll comfortably use it for qualitative measurements even up into low IF band frequencies (e.g. 455kHz) in some of the old radios I work on.
I knocked it down one star from perfection for only two reasons:
1) It's a bit slow to boot. This isn't a problem at all if it's left on, but it's a very minor annoyance compared to the nearly instant power-up I'm used to with handheld meters. Of course, I can't do 4-wire resistance measurements or GPIB/USB/Ethernet control with my Fluke 189 like I can with this new DM3068, so that's a reasonable trade-off.
2) The continuity beep isn't very loud, and doesn't appear to have adjustable volume. Some might prefer the quiet beep to avoid annoying other people around them, but it can be a bit too quiet when working on noisy equipment, or with music playing.
So, the Rigol gear maybe isn't quite on par with the best gear from the big guys, but this meter seems like a good value to me. I'm happy with it, and I'd recommend it to others who need benchtop DMM features in a new DMM with modern network connectivity, but don't want to spend a lot on gear from whatever HP is called this week.

I have had this instrument for several days, and I have reached certain conclusions thereabout:
Pros
The DM3068 appears to function perfectly wrt its specifications and works exactly as described. This is very positive and important. The DM3068 instrument provides a lot of value for the purchase price.
Cons
1/ The DM3068 has an internal fan which is fortunately neither above the level of annoying nor really objectionable, but it is audible nonetheless. I do not like instruments with fans, and I feel that the product data sheet is disingenuous to the extent that it does not disclose the presence of the internal fan which operates 100% of the time that the instrument is "on".
2/ The instrument requires about 15 seconds to boot from an "off" state. I suppose if you leave it "on" all of the time that is not an issue, but if you intend to keep it "off" when not in use and then turn it "on" to make a measurement, the 15 second wait is real and annoying. This wait is a negative externality of all of the software and tests that are executed on startup. Yet, if you except to turn this instrument "on" and use it directly, you will be disappointed. This is also not disclosed in the product specifications.
In all this is an excellent measurement device with some usability flaws.

You can't really complain about getting a 6.5 digit multimeter for this price. I was concerned there might be noise issues with the last digit, as this is a lower-cost unit, but I've been pleasantly surprised.
Menus are for the most part intuitive. The screen is fine, but it's not a nice full LCD, so don't expect to see too much information at once.

Display quality poor
3.0
I appreciate the aesthetics of Rigol's other products, such as the DP832 power supply and 20MHz oscilloscope, but this one is rather cludgely, and certainly not as intuitive as Agilent's respective units, and the display resolution is unattractive, and the iridescent glow of the back-lighting is ugly. The functionality otherwise is quite reasonable, once you get beyond first impressions.

Just got this 2 days ago. It feels solid and I am happy with my purchase. It is easy to use and definitely a lot of bang for the buck.
I put it through some tests and adjustments and found that the display, although not as nice as some others is bright and easy to read, even from a distance.
One thing I don't like is that it has a fan that runs all of the time when it is on. Thankfully, it is not too intrusive.
Overall, it feels like a good quality product and is more accurate than most people need.
The main thing that could be improved to make it more interesting to use and help it compete against other manufacturers is to replace the display with a larger, color one.

The Rigol DM3068 is a well-made, laboratory instrument at an affordable price. The value for the money is superb. My next purchase is an upgrade for 1mA/1mV display which will allow me to eliminate an ammeter in one of my test setups.
