This desoldering tip is ideal. It has enough thermal mass to keep it working throughout the day without loosing heat. It fits my desoldering iron perfectly. The plating on the tip lasts a long time. The tip size fits about 80% of my desoldering needs. For anything larger, I'll use the "A1007" or the "A1396".

I bought this and some other things to maintain a Hakko 470 with an 802 desoldering gun that I picked up used. This tip is an improvement over the original one that came with the gun. It looks like they've improved the tips since the origin of the 470/802. I'm happy with this product and would buy again.
