Fluke 424D Great Product
We found a new use for this product in the forestry industry and have bought 6-8 units over the last few years. They work great. If you need to see much greater distances in bright sunshine, use red glasses (normally used to protect eyes from green lasers)

The operation and accuracy of the meter are excellent.The laser range operates at the full 330 ft distance only in a relatively dark location.The users manual should be rewritten.

We bought several of these units for an unusual application for measuring horizontal distances in the forestry business outside and in daylight. This unit works the best of the units that I have tested. It is the easiest to see on your target and seems to measure correctly. In very bright and direct sunlight it is not practical for long distances. If you can find a shady spot for the dot, then it can be seen and red filter laser safety glasses can help those with weaker eyes.
