A bit pricey but the best wires I've come across. The way they feel is indescribable. They're such high quality. Absolutely beautiful. For the price though, I wish it came with more tips. The tips it comes with are okay. I'm sure they're fairly high quality, it's just the plastic looks a little eh. The teeth are amazing though, they work excellent. They just look eh. That's all.

A decent pair of wires

The wires themselves are excellent. Very nice and soft. The alligator clips are huge and they're a lot nicer quality than I've ever seen. The colour seems a little cheap, but overall, I think this is a real nice set. I like how they include a set of banana plugs so essentially, you can add any type of connector you want on the end, so long as it plugs into the banana plug type of adapters. I think that's great. Now I can mix and match. I plan on adding a nice set of fine needle test probes to my collection soon and I will be certain to make sure they can plug into these wires! I'd say well worth the money.

Great quality but you're paying for it

The picture doesn't really do this cable set justice. First they have this really soft silky jacket on the cables that feel high quality. Next, they have these really cool retracting plastic guards that prevent shorting of the banana connectors when they are not plugged into something. You get two sizes of alligator clips, banana plugs (for the non-fixed side, which don't have the retracting function on that set), and spade lugs.

I also own a non-name-brand, and a set of pomona, and these cal-test are the nicest.

The downside is that you're really paying for these. Pretty expensive, and I could see people complaining about what you get isn't worth what you paid.

I'd say it just barely crosses over into the "reasonable value" side.

Does what they are supposed to do. The higher current capabilities are nice, but the tradeoff is that the clips included are way too big for a lot of benchtop circuit applications (e.g. clipping to a 100mil header pin or ground post).

I bought 2 sets of these. The wires have a nice rubbery feel to them. One end has a plastic sheld covering the exposed metal of the plug, molded to the whole connector. The other has a plastic sheld that is spring-loaded and retracts. The end with the fixed sheild can't be plugged into a banana jack/binding post. The end with the retractable sheld can. Both can be plugged into the supplied clips.

One of my clips wasn't making contact with the banana plug, so I had to open the clip and crunch down the part that grabs the plug. That seemed to fix it. Cal Test offered to replace it.

All in all, they seem OK, but it doesn't feel like much for $56. A small pouch to keep them in would have been nice.

Deducting an extra star, because it was NOT free shipping, contrary to what the ad states. I had to pay 2X the shipping of one set, since I bought 2.
