Half-Duplex
Definition: Data Transmission over a circuit capable of transmitting in either direction but not simultaneously.
HART
Definition: Highway Addressable Remote Transducer. Commonly used mode of transmission for digital signals that are superimposed on the analog signal.
Henry
Definition: The unit of inductance. Also referred as Henries.
Heat Sink
Definition: Mechanical device that is thermally connected to a heat producing electronic component. Heat sinks are generally made of aluminium and employ fins to futher disperse the heat. Used in computers and their processors.
High Side
Definition: A component connected between the load and supply. High Side applications measure current by looking at the voltage drop across a resistor placed between the load and supply.
Hot Switching
Definition: opening and closing relay contacts while voltage and current are applied.
