Gain

Definition: The amount of amplification reached by an amplifier circuit.

Gain Error

Definition: An error in data converters indicating how well the slope of an actual transfer function matches the slope of the ideal transfer function.

Generator

Definition: An electromechanical device that converts mechanical power into electrical power.

Glitch

Definition: A term used to describe an unprecedented event in an application. Can also be used in I/O functions when they deviate from the norm.

Guarding

Definition: technique that reduces leakage errors and decreases response time.

GUI

Definition: Graphical User Interface. The simple view a user sees when accessing a program.
