Frequency Calibrators

A Frequency Calibrator is used to source and read DC voltage pulses for calibration and troubleshooting problems with process instruments. Applications for calibration and troubleshooting with Frequency Calibrators include:
  • Frequency counters
  • Tachometers
  • Vibration systems
  • Flowmeters such as turbine, paddle, vortex
Selection advice for Frequency Calibrators
  • Check the maximum frequency that will be needed and compare against the calibrator specification. Most calibrators will be able to handle at least 10 kHz.
  • Consider a multifunction calibrator that includes frequency along with other capabilities like loop, temperature, and pressure calibration
  • Totalizer feature to count the pulses within a selectable time. Permits calibrating a totalizer without needing a stopwatch.
  • Look for a calibrator that can Read and Source Frequency. Not all models can do both.
