HVAC Manometers and Micromanometers

Manometers are used to measure low differential pressures and used in applications such as adjusting furnace blower fan speed. Modern day digital manometers originated from the inconveniences of the U-tube manometers. U-tube manometers use a glass, U shaped, tube filled with water or other fluid of known specific gravity, such as mercury. Hoses are connected to each end. As differential pressure is applied, the fluid displaces, creating a measurable height difference between columns.

Key Features to Consider in Selecting Manometers
  • Measurement range
  • Ability to change to many different measurement units
  • Min/Max/Data Hold feature
  • Datalogging
  • Zero function for offset correction
  • Kits containing a carrying case and hoses
