About
Emerson Electric was founded in 1890 in St. Louis, Missouri. Today, the company is still headquartered just outside the city. At the time of its founding, Emerson focused only on manufacturing reliable AC electric motors. With these motors, Emerson capitalized on a growing demand and was able to develop a reputation for quality products before the turn of the century. From 1900 on, Emerson began to diversify its product line to include everything from arc welders to defense products to quality hand tools.
Today Emerson’s business is grouped into five separate segments: Process Management, Industrial Automation, Network Power, Climate Technologies, and Commercial & Residential Solutions. At TEquipment, we specialize in Emerson Process Management products including HART communicators. Emerson HART communicators support HART, WirelessHART and Foundation Fieldbus devices. These HART communicators are available as intrinsically safe and feature a full-color graphical user interface and long lasting Lithium-Ion battery. Emerson HART communicators also feature an Easy Upgrade Option which gives users the ability to keep system software and device drivers updated through the web. In addition, the optional Bluetooth communication function helps speed up wireless information transfer from these devices.
Emerson Process Management serves numerous industries including Oil & Gas, Life Sciences, Power, Metals & Mining, Food & Beverage, Industrial Energy, and more. In serving these and more industries, Emerson maintains more than 98 subsidiaries including companies like AMS, Cascade Technologies, Fisher, Rosemount, RIGID, Avocent, and many more. The company completed its 58th consecutive year of increased dividends in fiscal year 2014.
