Great meter but USB needs improvement
3.0
We have three of these meters and, except for the USB interface, they all perform great. The user interface is intuitive, and the measurements are very accurate. The USB interface is a little unreliable for data recordings. We’ve used Kingston and Verbatim flash drives for all data recordings and there are two problems that we have encountered. First, the analyzer will stop recognizing the USB drive during recording. It’s not due to too much data even though we may record for up to 12 hours. The recording might stop during the first hour or a few hours into the test. Second, the analyzer will stop recognizing the USB drive after it is removed to transfer the data to a Windows 10 PC. I should note that we properly stop the data logging on the analyzer before we remove the flash drive. As a work-around we now format the flash drive before returning it to the analyzer. It seems to help, but not entirely resolve the flash drive recognition error. The manufacturer had offered a software interface option so that the analyzer can be connected to a PC for data recording, but I don’t know the status of that option. The manufacturer has failed to reply to my two email requests regarding the software interface. The USB data logging feature works reliably about 90% of the time so it’s not all bad. Other than that flaw the meter works perfectly.
