"The name Weller has been synonymous with forward-looking soldering solutions since 1959. We have now ended our family affiliation to Cooper Tools", said Stephan Hofmann, Managing Director of Weller Tools GmbH, formerly Cooper Tools GmbH. Following the joint venture between Tools divisions of Cooper industries and Danaher Corporation to create the Apex Tool Group in 2010, the former Cooper Tools GmbH took the opportunity to operate in future under its own brand name. "The renaming of the company as Weller Tools GmbH finally clears up any ambiguity there may have been concerning the branding and the people behind it", said the managing director. "We appreciate that our employees world-wide have always seen themselves as belonging to the "Weller" team and have been delivering optimal solutions to customers as such".
