This ESD jacket is designed to ground the garment and wearer through a ground cord connected to the 4mm stainless steel hip pocket snap. This allows for hands-free movement without tethering one hand, which is required when using a wrist strap connected to a ground cord. The lightweight fabric makes this style one of our most popular garments. The surface resistivity of the fabric is 1x10E5 and the sleeve-to-sleeve resistance of the garment is guaranteed to stay below 3.5x10E7 for 100 washes or 2 years

This V-neck jacket comes with 4mm male ground snaps on the hip pockets. This snap connection is for attaching a standard ground cord. Using the garment in this way eliminates the need for a wrist strap. This connection is also used for testing and/or monitoring that the garment and the wearer are grounded. The “Reaching Hand Symbol” next to the breast pocket indicates that this garment is a tool for the prevention of static discharge.

All Tech Wear garments made of OFX-100 fabric with our ESD knit cuffs or the “Key option” used as recommended, will meet the requirements of the National ESD Association’s ANSI/ESD STM 2.1-2013, Category 3, “Garment used as primary grounding path for personnel” and/or “Grounded through a single wire constant monitor system”, and will maintain these performance characteristics for a minimum of 100 washes or 2 years, whichever comes first.

Wash in cool or cold water with any commercially-available liquid detergent, and hang dry or dry at 120°F or less. Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or iron. The carbon-suffused monofilament nylon is sensitive to heat and should not be exposed to drying heat in excess of 120oF. Wash at 90oF (Maximum) and tumble dry at low heat or hang dry. This lightweight fabric will dry very quickly and we recommend hang-drying for maximum life.
