Since I last used this meter to find a defective blower it just kept getting better. The meter also found 2 electric motors with bearing issues, and a defective rebuilt blower. The meter has impressed the contractors that is doing the millwright work. If you're on a budget this meter does a lot for the price. It is easy to learn, and very well built. It will help you save equipment from damaging itself, and save even more on costly production shut downs.

Saved one blower. Won me over

Had it less than 2 weeks when I used it to check a blower. People were ignoring the higher oil temp on one side of the blower. Took vibration reading between the blower and another identical blower. Made the decision to shut the blower down due to the data. People were mad as hell I shut the blower down. Maintenance rolled in the next day and did a lift check. Bearing had failed. If the blower was allowed to continue to run it would have destroyed itself. A 40 thousand dollar lost. After that I was sold on this analyzer. It gives the operator enough information to make important decisions. It paid itself right there.

A great opportunity to get started

I had been looking for new technology in condition based maintenance. State-of-the-art equipment has always been in the $5000 and up range, but I was sure thechnology had its way into this too. So I found the TPI line, and bought it. After 3 days on the field, I realized the 9071 offers enough information to decide wether the bearing needs lubrication or if it needs to be replaced soon. We are delighted and already overwhelmed with all the maintenace work ahead!!. With no way to transfer the data, we decided to document the readings taking pictures and uploading them to whatsapp, then to a database, but being able to see (measure) its definetly a major advantage.
