nice unit
5.0
I'm happy with this unit. I've been using it remotely using python code and it has worked flawlessly. This is important because instrument lock-ups for remote use really make an instrument useless. But so far, I've not seen any problems.
I also like the big, bright display. It is a good low-cost option for a DMM,

Excellent product! Quickly settles. Very little offset from 0 when taking critical measurements and being referenced to 0 remains steady.

Big Knob Cannot Be Trusted
1.0
Imagine turning the knob with it's nice detent feel, incrementing output voltage from two and a half volts up to 3.3 a tenth at a time while watching some other measurement only to glance back and notice that the fifth click that should have advanced from 2.9 to 3.0 volts instead took the output voltage to 5.2. POW, went my 3.3 volt part. After a couple of years of this it's part of my muscle memory to turn the output off before touching the big knob. A more recent development (last six months out of about two and a half years total) has been for the voltage to GO DOWN WHEN I'M TURNING THE KNOB CLOCKWISE or visa versa. When I ordered the first one of these supplies and it was partially DOA (but Tequipment very promptly sent a replacement) I should have somehow taken that as a sign. This supply is wonderfully precise and being able to control it remotely via USB with relatively simple Python programs has been fantastic (it makes a great automatic battery charger, for example, and you get precise logging of the battery behavior to boot). However not being able to predict what that big knob is going to do at any given time has ground my enthusiasm for this instrument into the dirt.

Only had for a very short time but have put meter thru all its paces. Works very well but like anything it does have it's fall backs or short comings. First the meter is a little slow but have not updated firmware yet, and second, the beep on the continuity test is very low it could be louder. and third like many comments I have read I agree with them on the bar graph needs to be completely changed needs the bar graph to start from the 0 spot not from the far left can be confusing, but overall for the price it is a great meter.

Feature rich, accurate, great value
4.0
The Good;
- The DC voltage is spot on with my reference and other meters.
- The fast/med/slow display rate is about perfect for me with the 15R1 FW.
- Love the trend chart and histogram, you can actually achieve much greater resolution with the trend chart than the 5.5 digit 240,000 count display. Really cool feature!
- Very good overall feel/look, great buttons. Intuitive layout and UI. Its basilica a clone of the Keysight/Agilent 34461a.
- I have not tested the continuity speed on older FW, but on 15R1 the continuity beep is very fast. I suspect the continuity speed was also improved with the display speed on the new FW.
The Bad;
- The bar-graph is too slow and slows down the display readout when active, so this function is not really useful as is. I like really fast bar meters to emulate an analog needle. Also, it should start from the center, not the far left.
- There are a few display/UI improvemnts I would like to see. One, you can disable the LAN in the I/O menu but the LAN icon does not indicate this. It would be nice to have a way to quickly zero highlighted digits when manually setting parameters vs having to up/down them to zero. Perhaps enable the center OK button to zero a digit.
- You can manually adjust the lower parameters in the trend chart and histogram to unusable values (well below the internal noise floor). It would be a nice touch to put a minimum limit on these.
Overall;
I almost went for a used Keysight/Agilent 34401a (had one once before) but I didn’t need 6.5 digits, but rather have the nicer display and charting capabilities. So far, I’ve been very pleased and impressed with this meter. I will note, this is my second unit from Tequipment. The aluminum shield that covers the ADC section on the measurement board came loose and was floating around in the first unit shipped. Siglent reps where very quick to respond and address the issue making sure I would properly taken care of. There where some early FW issues that Siglent have been quick to address and I know they are continuing to improve the FW. I give the SDM3055 and Siglent a thumbs up.

Hidden expenses
1.0
Failed the third time I switched it on. Firmware bug that Tequipment could have warned me about before I was forced to spend $180 to get it fixed.
Will not be buying this brand again.
Tequipment response: Thanks for the feedback. We posted the firmware info on the product page as soon as we received it. We do not email out firmware updates. Often they do not apply to everyone.

Nice screen but slow
3.0
Biggest con of this unit is the remote software is crap. Utterlly unusable and the device is pretty slow in the highest setting. I hope the software gets an update soon. Everything else about the unit is pretty great and the screen is really nice.
Tequipment Response: Note new firmware released that greatly impoves the refesh rate of the display
9/29/2015 Version: 1.01.01.15R1. Please see the top of this page for a link to download the new firmware. This should solve the issue you were having with the slow display rate.

Great DMM, great sales person, great company!
5.0
This is a fantastic multimeter. I was debating this or the Rigol DM3058E. They are basically the same unit spec-for-spec, but this one has a few slightly better specs (e.g. 150 rdgs/s versus 123 rdgs/s; remote operation via ethernet, etc.). What was really a big selling point for me was the 4.3 inch true color TFT-LCD display. Really big numbers, easy on the eyes! Also the software driving the DMM is very well designed (IMHO). It only took be a few minutes before I understood it and could quickly navigate the entire system. Also, had a great sales person (Mark C.) who was helpful and even made sure my order had the proper discounts and shipping applied over the phone. Thanks Tequipment.net - great purchase.

Good customer support
4.0
The power supply itself is great. I had a couple of issues with the software interface, but that has been resolved.
Initially the software installer was in Chinese,but that has been fixed.
It also requires a National Instruments download (http://www.ni.com/download/ni-visa-5.4.1/4627/en/)
or you will get a VISA32.dll not found error when you go to run the software.
I would like to see a little more capability in the software interface, but overall a good product.
