SCS EOS/ESD Assessment Kit
The SCS 770045 EOS/ESD Assessment Kit offers an effective way to detect ESD events, troubleshoot, and verify that the ESD control processes are working properly. The devices included in the kit identify EOS (electrical overstress) and ESD (electrostatic) generators. The kit includes the following instruments:
- Resistance Pro Meter Kit - measure resistance point-to-point (Rtt) or surface to ground (Rtg) in accordance with ESD Association Standard ANSI/ ESD S4.1
- EM Eye ESD Event Meter - detect, count and measure ESD events that can damage ESD items and cause tool lock-ups, erratic behavior and parametric errors
- Handheld Electrode - measure Floor Materials and Footwear - Resistance Measurement in Combination with a Person (ANSI/ESD STM97.1)
- Ground Pro Meter – verifies critical grounding parameters of a facility, measure AC voltage, DC voltage, EMI voltage, AC impedance (meets ANSI/ESD S20.20); identifies potential EOS generators (to requirement IPC-A-610)
- Static Sensor and Air ionizer Test Kit - measure static fields and offset voltage (balance) and charge decay of ionization equipment
- ESD Training Paddle Set - demonstrate the creation of static charges and the functionality of ESD control products
- Pelican 1510 Case with lid organizer and foam inserts - protects and stores test equipment; meets carry-on luggage size restrictions
ESD Program Standard ANSI/ESD S20.20 clearly states the necessity of having the means to regularly perform surveys to measure, verify, and qualify products and ESD control processes in ESD Protected Areas. The SCS EOS/ESD Assessment Kit will enable the user to do this.
Per ANSI/ESD S20.20 section 6.1.3.1 Compliance Verification Plan Requirement:
“A Compliance Verification Plan shall be established to ensure the organization’s compliance with the requirements of the Plan. Formal audits or certifications shall be conducted in accordance with a Compliance Verification Plan that identifies the requirements to be verified, and the frequency at which those verifications must occur. Test equipment shall be selected to make measurements of appropriate properties of the technical requirements that are incorporated into the ESD program plan.”
Per 6.1.3.2. Compliance Verification Plan Guidance:
“In addition to internal audits, external audits (Organization and supplier of ESDS items) should be performed to ensure compliance with planned requirements. Verifications should include routine checks of the Technical Requirements in the Plan. The frequency of verification checks should be based on the control item usage, its durability and associated risk of failure.”
