The Rigol DG821 is a 25 MHz, single channel function generator which incorporates multiple instruments into one portable and cost effective device. The DG821 features 2 Mpts standard memory, which is upgradeable to 8 Mpts via software. In addition, the DG821 can be upgraded from a one channel to two channel instrument, simply by entering a keycode. Enabling the second channel does not cause any compromise in performance, and the unit would function equivalent to two independent signal sources. The DG821 is a multi-function instrument - function generator, arbitrary waveform generator, noise generator, pulse generator, harmonic generator, analog/digital modulator, and frequency counter. It offers high performance at an unprecedented price point, and is ideal for applications including education, R&D, and much more.
The Rigol DG800 generates arbitrary waveforms point by point without distorting signals. Compared with the previous version of SiFi technology, SiFi II has added multiple filters, supporting the dynamic adjustment of the edge time.
A touch screen with tap and drag gesture recognition offers a new user interface for the DG800. Parameter settings can be entered with a keyboard as well.
Several analog and digital modulations functions are supported by the DG800 - AM, FM, PM, ASK, FSK, PSK, and PWM.
The new design for heat dissipation has undergone strict thermal testing to ensure steady operation of the instrument in a complex environment.
I see there are several versions of the Rigol DG800 series. How are they different?

One channel DG800''s can be upgraded into two channel models?
That is correct, one channel DG800''s can be upgraded to two channel with a software keycode. However, it costs less to purchase a two channel unit, as opposed to buying a one channel and upgrading it at a later date with the optional software.
