Solid unit

It works well and does what is advertised. The digital temperature readout is good especially for the price of this station. It gets up to temperature pretty fast once picked up.

Nice features, but the hose gets in the way
4.0
Heats up and cools down quickly. The sensor in the handle rest is very nice. The enclosure isn't too big. Only issue is that the hose is a bit stiff and the rubber is "grabby". It tends to get in the way on my bench. Overall it's pretty good, much better than I've had at previous jobs.

Very compact yet powerful
5.0
The Quick 957DW is the smaller and less powerful version of the full sized Quick 861DW but don't be thrown off by its small size. It is still plenty powerful enough to desolder large chips from laptop motherboards and a massive improvement to those cheap hot air stations with the blower integrated into the handle. This one is quiet and powerful and comes with a decent selection of nozzles to get you started. For the price, this is hard to beat!

DOA: Fan error on arrival
1.0
Honestly I don't even feel like I want to bother trying to get this resolved. This was my first purchase from this store and getting shipped a dead unit is a bad vibe.
Granted I know I picked an open box unit, but businesses should not sell broken stuff. If you are going to sell an open box unit, you should verify it works first. Nothing on the page indicated it could be a potentially broken unit, nor did the price reflect such a gamble. Generally open box units are functional but lack original package or show light use - instead I was shipped a brick and don't think I care to give TEquipment any more of my time or money.

I used to use this crappy hot air station from Amazon, and it died after only three months. So I looked into a couple of stations to possibly buy. I came across this one, and seen some great reviews about it, so I took the plunge. It has been so amazing to use. It's air control is awesome, it's heat up time is also really great. Even cools really fast either by turning it off or setting it on the stand.

Decent entry-level value, heat not as advertised
3.0
This is my first hot air station and I specifically chose this one because it seems to be the right balance between cost and performance for someone like me who wants a decent unit for occasional use that doesn't break the bank. I'll be using it for heat shrink and a bit of SMD when needed. I'm not doing anything complex or sensitive.
Overall it meets expectations. The hose is made of a material that attracts and sticks to all sorts of hair and dust. The unit I received is not 580W at all. According to my kill-a-watt it's only drawing 458W. It still is able to maintain full heat at full air volume. This seems to be sufficient but the unit should not be sold as 580W when it's actually 460W.
Heat and airflow are just fine for my needs. I like the knobs for adjusting heat and air. It makes the unit fast to configure. The shutoff sensor in the handle works well regardless of orientation. I did not have the opportunity to test temperature accuracy.

BLUF: great budget station. Heats up fast, cools down fast. Very fast and easy adjustments. I've used it to remove and reattach QFNs, long headers (15 ), and connectors. This is my only air station, so I have nothing to compare it to. But it serves my needs completely. Compared to some competitors, I really like the box design, because it allows me to keep some supplies on top.

Been using now for about 3 months and no problems so far. I use this to remove smd packages and to shrink heat-shrink tubing. Wand hanger can be adhered to either side of device for comfort. Dial sensitivity is appropriate and easy to adjust to desired temperate. Overall a great piece of equipment, glad I grabbed it.

Surprisingly good for the price
4.0
I was disappointed with the power of the Hakko 206 hot air and wanted something low cost to help remove components off boards that were of any appreciable size or which had ground pads. Not wanting to spend much more, I wound up buying the Quick 957DW .
What a surprise! Though the temp regulation isn't all that great, this thing actually works really well. And the accessories are low cost to boot!
I'll still be using my Hakko 206 for flowing solder paste or removing small components as the control of its pencil is excellent, but the 957DW will be my goto hot air for everything else.

Cannot get any easier and yet affordable
5.0
Do not be deceived by this entry level hot air station. This baby can really deliver at an affordable price. I just started doing SMD and this hot air station made the job so easy and look like professional. You can do things by hand but this product takes the complexity away.
The air flow even at a minimum seem to be too strong for so small parts. Maybe I need to learn how to use this tool better or maybe a more expensive product gives you more watts but also even better control of the air flow.

The build quality is as good as it looks in the pictures and the functionality is excellent. It is very fast to come up to temperature (7 sec.) and the heat and fan adjustments work as expected. Fan is located in the base housing and heating element is in the handle, so this is designed similar to the $300 machines.

Quality Hot Air Station
5.0
This little hot air station is amazing!...Very good quality at a competitive price. You see a lot of people using the "cheap ones" that you can find online for a similar price.... they are terrible, overheat and the biggest difference is they do not hold a steady temperature. The fan is built into the handle and makes them bulky and difficult to use. However, the Quick 957DW is a wonderful little machine, the fan is built into the housing as opposed to the handle and the very high-quality silicone tube supplies the airflow. The wires that supply power to the heating element are concealed inside the silicone tube and there is a magnetic sensor built into the head that puts it into shutdown mode after the head has been placed into the holder. The airflow will continue until the temperature of the head is safe enough to shut down completely. The fan is amazingly quiet and has a wide range of flow which is complementary to the wide range of temperature you can accurately get with this wonderful machine! Highly recommended to have on your bench!

I'm not writing this review because I actually think I'm going to win a 5k scope, but because I think this is an excellent inexpensive option for others like myself.
I'm a hobbyist/tinkerer and don't frequently need a hot air station, so I didn't want to spend a lot on one. I wanted something that could remove 8-24 pin smd ics and the occasional qfp part. I've seen some troubling reviews on similar units and thought this one might also be a piece of junk, but I've had great luck with it. It's removed everything I've tried it on.
The other unit I considered, the 861DW, is a more capable unit for sure but costs almost three times as much. I'm glad I got the 957DW.

I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality of this station. It looks pretty good inside and out. Nothing feels super heavy duty, but nothing feels very cheap either.
Functionally, it heats up fast, it's quiet, and it seems to work just fine. I use it to reflow smaller boards with mostly discreet components, so no large BGAs, large heatsinks, or anything like that. I can't say how accurate the temperature display is, but it does bounce up and down a few degrees when you change the airflow, which implies the display isn't lying like a lot of cheaper soldering gear. Otherwise, it seems very stable and has more than enough heat and airflow for anything I've tried to do with it. The holder works well, and turns off the heater automatically, but the handle is light enough that it's easy to push the hose and knock the handle out of the holder. It's not a huge deal, but worth noting.
One weird thing to note: the specs on this site state 580 watts, with 10Ll/m airflow. The manual says it's 400 watts with 50L/m airflow. The back of the unit also says 400W. It might just be peak vs continuous figures, but it works fine so I'm not too worried.
Overall, I'm happy with it. It does what I want while not taking up much space on my small bench.

Heats quickly - excellent temperature and airflow control. Bought extra nozzles and the 10x10mm QFP was able to remove the IC without damage to an LCD display next to it as those are very sensitive to heat.
Also very quiet operation - have used others that are loud.

A great entry-level rework station
5.0
This is a great compromise between the many-hundreds-of-dollars professional models and the probably-burn-your-house-down budget models you see on ali and ebay. It's well built, feels solid, reasonably quiet, and it does everything it's supposed to do. The nozzle heats up very quickly, the air control is great, and the auto-stop feature is very nice. For some reason it generates a TON of EMI, so if you have any cheapy-LED lights expect them to flicker.
