Pico's ergonomically designed passive oscilloscope probes are suitable for use with all major brands of oscilloscopes as well as the PicoScope range of USB Oscilloscopes. Passive probes don't require a power supply or batteries so are lightweight and easily portable. The TA386 is a passive switchable oscilloscope probe, with a bandwidth of 200 MHz. This probe is an upgraded version of TA131 which includes many improvements to enhance durability, ease of use and performance.
Before taking any measurements using the probe, first check its compensation and adjust it to match the channel inputs. Connect the probe to a 2 V pk-pk, 1 kHz square wave source. Most PicoScope oscilloscopes have a signal generator output marked GEN or AWG, which you can configure to generate such a signal. Set the switch on the probe to the X10 position. Adjust the trimmer until you see a flat-top square wave on the display:
