The handpiece's slim line, pencil grip design maximizes operator comfort and control. Also useful for conformal coating removal via spot heating of coating which softens adhesives, urethanes and epoxies. Multiple quick-change nozzle sizes are available. The TJ-85's airflow is actuated with a foot pedal (provided) and provides safe, "instant use" capability without constant running of an air pump.
When the precise application of hot air is required, Pace's TJ-85 ThermoJet Slim-Line Hot Air Pencil is ideal for delivering convective heat for the installation and removal of chip components, SOTs, and SOICs, from large SMDs down to the smallest 0201s.

There are several versions of the Pace TJ-85. How are they different?
These all have the TJ-85 hot air pencil, however, they differ in two ways. First, this is available as either IntelliHeat or SensaTemp. Also, each of those is available with the handpiece by itself, as well as the handpiece and a stand. Please see below for part numbers and descriptions of each. •6010-0153-P1 = IntelliHeat handpiece only •6993-0270-P1 = IntelliHeat handpiece and stand •6010-0142-P1 = SensaTemp handpiece •6993-0247-P1 = SensaTemp handpiece and stand

Pace hot air pencil

Excellent controls of temperature and air flow. Allows focusing of heat on tiny SMD components without affecting surrounding parts. Consulted Pace about applications with lead free solder. Excellent discussion on problems with high solder melt temperatures. Better results are obtained using a PCB preheater. Otherwise, results are not as quick and clean.
