The OC White Ergo-Zoom EZ-864 are binocular stereo microscopes, available in several configurations. Easily modified by the user, the EZ-864 is compatible with a wide variety of optics, stands and light sources, enabling users to customize the system for their specific application.
The Ergo-Zoom EZ-864 has a zoom range of 0.8x to 6.4x, and is compatible with several styles of eyepiece and objective. Available eyepieces come in 10x, 15x and 20x magnification, with objectives ranging from 0.5x to 2x. This creates a high level of versatility, as users can create substantial changes in working distance and magnification by simply changing one part. Working distance refers to the amount of space between your specimen and the microscope’s objective – increases in this number indicate a larger amount of room for the user to operate. Depending on the configuration, the EZ-864 has a working distance of 32.5 to 200mm, and an overall magnification from 4x to 256x. Please see the chart below for more information.
The OC White Ergo Zoom is available with two styles of eyepiece positioning – fixed and adjustable. Fixed eyepieces cannot be moved and are mounted at a 20 degree angle. Adjustable eyepieces can be moved vertically 0 to 35 degrees, and maintain full functionality throughout the entire range of motion. For identification purposes, models with fixed eyepieces are denoted by an “FH” in their model number. For example, TKEZ-864 versus TKEZ-864-FH.
Several illumination sources are available for use with the EZ-864. Compatible with OC White’s Micro-Lite series, users can chose from several LED and fiber optic lighting options. The LV2000 is an extremely popular model – this is a dimmable, high intensity LED, and comes with a 5 year/50000 hour warranty. It also uses minimal electricity and never has any bulbs to replace.
For applications requiring camera usage, the EZ-864 is easily converted from a binocular to trinocular microscope. The OC White EZ-Splitter installs directly inline with the unit’s optical system, and creates no light loss through the eyepieces. The microscope can continue to be used as normal, as images are caught by the camera through its trinocular port.
