Keysight 16196 Series – Parallel Electrode SMD Test Fixtures
The 16196 Series surface mount devices (SMD) test fixture offers excellent repeatability and usability, with accurate correlation up to 3 GHz. The Keysight 16196 series fixtures are custom designed to fit specific SMD sizes and provide repeatable DUT positioning with reliable contacts to enable stable measurement results - reducing the possibility of operator-induced error. Traditionally, SMD inductor evaluation up to 3 GHz has been difficult to implement - the Keysight 16196 series performs accurate and repeatable measurements.
In order to handle DUTs with differing shapes, the 16196A and 16196B each come with 3 types of insulator assembly, the 16196C comes with 1 insulator assembly, and the 16196D comes with two types of insulator assembly. Each of these insulator assemblies has little marks engraved in them to enable identification of each model and hole diameter. There are marks on the back of the insulator assemblies to identify the model and there are marks on the front to identify the hole diameter.
The Keysight 16196D series is furnished with two different insulator assemblies since any gaps between the DUT and the cylindrical insulator will result in improper positioning and subsequent measurement errors. Select an insulator assembly that reduces the gap the most. See below for the dimensions of the insulator assemblies.
