As other reviews have suggested, this is a bullet proof simple power supply. This should hold up over the years. The jelly bean build should make it easy to repair if ever needed. Although it DOES NOT have 10 turn pots, it's easy enough to fine tune. Certainly not a deal breaker. The physical build is robust. The metal cabinet is very sturdy. It doesn't bend when you pick it up by the handle, unlike many of those cheap PS you see all over the web. The components are quaintly and nicely soldered in straight lines. None of the sloppy crooked stuff you sometimes find.

OK So it's a power supply. Nothing fancy or too complicated here, and, if that's what you're looking for then this could be your ticket. Simply great professional construction and quality at almost a hobby price. It's very quiet, and the pots are not 10 turn but sensitive enough so it's not a bother. It doesn't have all the doodads of the newer programmables, but, for my work I don't need it. The unit build clean and orderly and sturdy. This unit will probably be in working order for decades to come. I opted for this instead of lower priced imternet supplies that proliferate the market after I saw their sloppy builds and cheapo construction.

Power Supply

First the Power supply is packaged in a very neat and comprehensive style.
It sure does the job and produces enough current for the specific bench test requirements.
The LCD is very legible and the operator will hardly make a mistake reading the display.
The output voltage is very clean and hardly any ripple associated even if the current consumption is increasing
A bit bulky and heavy...but it is well worth it.
I like the version that comes with the output voltage ON/OFF switch, even if the Power supply is turned ON. This prevents any accidental connection or the onrush current when you first turn the power switch ON.
Over all I am very pleased and have purchased more than 8 of them for our lab. More purchases to come for the future

Like these power supplies!

I used these power supplies for all labs when I was an undergrad in computer engineering at one of the major Canadian engineering schools. Basically any lab that required a bench supply had the Instek GPS-3303's in them. They were always reliable, and I'm not aware of any that ever failed (and with each lab having probably 40 of them, and there were many labs that had these supplies, there were a LOT of them). Especially nice was the output enable/disable button, allowing you to set the voltage/current limit of each channel without the output enabled, rather than shorting the output to set the current limit as you have to do on supplies without this feature. Overall a great bench non-programmable power supply!
