To resolve these issues, the new Model PD3129 clips over the outside of conductors? insulation, enabling safe and easy phase detection at any point along the conductors. Four LEDs light in sequence to clearly indicate phase relationships even in dark environments, and positive or reverse phases can be indicated both visually and by an audible beeper. The clips attach to conductors of up to 17 mm diameter at voltages between 100 and 600 V. To avoid battery depletion worries in the event that the operator neglects to turn the detector off, an auto-power-off feature turns it off about 15 minutes after turn-on. Continuous operating time on two common AA batteries is as long as 70 hours.
A green arrow indicates normal phase, which can be communicated in an easy-to-understand manner by including the phase detector in photographs used to document the proper completion of electrical work.
The no-metal-contact clips need only to be clipped to the outside of each wire’s insulation, letting you carry out phase detection work safely.
The flashing phase sequence lamps, arrow LED, and tone let you easily and intuitively verify the phase sequence of three-phase power supplies.
A flashing lamp indicates when the batteries are low so that you can avoid having the detector turn off abruptly.
The four magnets on the back of the phase detector allow it to be secured in place on distribution panels, significantly boosting work efficiency by freeing your hands for other tasks.
Two AA batteries deliver 70 hours of continuous use. This long service life means fewer troublesome battery changes. In addition, there’s no need to carry spare batteries.
