The standard solder spool holder

Since I started soldering for work and later for hobby use, the dual spool Hakko solder stand has been the standard holder that I use frequently and recommend to others. It holds both leaded type 1lb solder (Kester) with some space on both ends, and the lead free (Indium SAC305) larger spools without free space. Assembly is required as the side panels and base come flat in a box with spindles and wire guides handle. You'll need a long #2 Philips screwdriver so that the angle is mostly vertical; a stubby won't work well. I use larger diameter solder on the bottom and smaller on top because larger is harder to bend and have never had a problem with sliding or tipping while pulling. There is a small screw on the back of the base if you need to connect to an ESD workstation. I have two of these now; hope that helps you decide.

I was looking for something to hang solder on and took a gamble on this. I was actually expecting it to be this good. Metal is thick, the plates are very heavy duty and will likely outlast the owner for its intended purpose. Comes with everything you need except solder.

Bench space. NEVER enough bench space. This little gem of a solder stand went a long way toward cleaning my bench. So much so that I'll be ordering a few more. For now, I took the two different sizes of solder I use most often & loaded them in the stand which took less than 5 minutes to assemble. If I'm soldering a piece of equipment in another area I take it there. No unraveled spools cluttering my world and, best of all, I can always find it!

Great stand. Feels sturdy and won't move when you pull the solder. I use two different types of solder, 0.45mm and 0.8mm. Helps me keep my work bench organised. When i'm ready to solder I just pull the solder I want , cut it with pliers and done!
