After extensive use of the DCS 1100 I have concluded that it is insufficient for serious industrial use.
It is adequate for general inspection work that does not require fine detail.
I work on industrial engines and the one thing I need the most is the ability to look inside a cylinder after pulling the sparkplug.
The side view capability is nice but the light gathering ability is so poor I use a 600 lumen flashlight to enhance the view but this causes blind spots, whiteout and is hard to hold everything in perfect alignment

In daylight the screen is very hard to see without shielding it.
The focus has to be constantly adjusted when trying to find a dropped valve, then looking at the piston and then the bore.

It works ok when looking under a car seat or dashboard because of ambient light, but, the the focus is only good within a few inches and I spend considerable time moving the probe around until I figure out what I'm looking at.

If I had known the limitations I would have gladly spent more money on a better scope.
I don't use it anymore due to the above stated issues and consider it wasted money.
The literature should explain what each scope is capable of, and more importantly, what it is not designed to do.
I hope this helps other technicians avoid a similar experience.

Excellent for viewing in tight spots, good resolution, and switching between forward and side views is very easy. I take photos of the screen with my cell phone for any possible documentation. Good American made product, not like some of the cheapo poor resolution
instruments one can buy. Worth the money.

Works very well in many applications. The case is a bit clumsy to accommodate the tool for storage.
