Protects meters, but won't fit unit accessories.

The Fluke C20 Hard Case is labeled on Fluke's catalog as supporting meter models: 187 ,189, 27 II, 28 II, 287, and 289. I have an original 189 model.
My case came with the official FLUKE logo in yellow and black on the face of it (very nice). It's not shown in the product's picture for some reason, but if you find an older product picture, you'll see it. I was hoping it would come with the logo myself when I ordered it.
While I like the case and will stick with it, there are two issues I have. One, I have modified the case to correct, the other cannot be corrected.
1. The scoop for your fingers to pop out the probe/accessory door are too shallow and have a ridge at the end of them. When the door suddenly gives after pulling it open, you feel you're going to rip off your finger nails every time as they catch on the ridge as you're pulling the door.
I eventually drilled two small parallel holes through the top of the door and ran new reenforced engine pull-starter cord through it to give me a retractable handle. Now I have something to pull the door open every time that won't hurt my hand or lead to any accidents.
2. I fitted my 189 with the optional fluke accessory pack which allows you to connect the magnetic strap and probe holders to the back (now molded into the body on all new meters). However, the meter will only fit into the UPSIDE DOWN if you have the rubber accessory pack on your 189 and will not fit at all if you have the plastic insert for the magnetic strap attached.
I considered this a huge oversight, why they had the depth shorter at the top then the bottom is a big mystery. The bottom has more throw depth so you can barely fit the meter in with it's accessory pack...but the case is designed to hold the meter using a pinch point and gravity, when its upside down, you risk it falling out plus it's not in a position to be upright inside the case as the stand function is now on the wrong side.
This means I had to stuff my magnetic strap and holder inside the small probe compartment which leaves less room for probes. I places a series of adhesive magnetics inside the probe compartment to hold lead accessories in place and stop rattling noises. But the probe compartment is very small comparatively.
It's the best case I found and I made it workable, it has several glaring flaws and I wish fluke would have bothered to test with users before going into production but you won't find a better standup and rugged case that allows you to just open, attach leads, and go without taking the meter out of the case. If you've expecting dirty hands or gloves, this is the best way to go.
Got a great price, so I'm satisfied in the end with my case.

Double boxed case delivery
5.0
Very pleased with the purchase of the Fluke case for my 187 meter. I was very surprised when the case arrived since it was double boxed. Everything was in pristine condition and the meter fit just like it should.
