Combination taps install in-line or with SPAN ports. Port configurations can be set to aggregate, replicate or pass traffic at full line rate to any other port. Configuration sets ports for network side connectivity, or analysis device connectivity. These products offer the highest number of replication ports for critical link locations where numerous analysis devices are deployed. Combination taps provide the ultimate flexibility when connecting network and security monitoring devices to critical links. Instead of having dedicated network side or monitoring side ports, these taps are fully configurable so any number of ports can aggregate network traffic, or any number of ports can be used for data replication to network and analysis equipment. Four analysis devices (two security and two network) can be configured to see aggregated SPAN traffic from two switches, while another two devices monitor a critical server link - all from the same tap. Signal regeneration and media conversion in numerous configurations is possible with these devices, extending the ROI and functionality of network security and network analysis equipment. A simple command line interface configures the tap so users can switch their analysis device across any of the ports for a one-to-one or one-to-many view of network locations. |
