The FLIR E75 and FLIR E60 share the same thermal resolution of 320x240 pixels. Apart from that however, these cameras have some important differences. The E75 has several special features which are not found on the E60, making it more suited to the most demanding professional applications. One important difference is that the E75 allows you to use FLIR UltraMax Super Resolution technology to increase the resolution of your IR images up to 640x480. You can access this feature once you have imported your images into the free FLIR Tools image analysis and reporting software. This means that the E75 can provide infrared images with double the resolution of the E60. Another important difference between these cameras is thermal sensitivity, or how sensitive the camera is to slight differences in temperature across a scene. The E75 has thermal sensitivity of 30mK compared to 50mK on the E60 - this means the E75 is more sensitive and will show more detailed temperature variation in an IR image. The E60 thermal camera has a built-in 3.5-inch touchscreen, compared to a 4-inch touchscreen with durable Dragontrail™ Glass on the E75. This gives the E75 a slight edge in screen clarity since you can see more on-screen. Both cameras give you versatile control options since both have physical buttons as well as touchscreen controls. The menu functions on the both cameras are very intuitive and provide easy access to important functions. Refresh rate or frame rate for these cameras is another key difference. The E75 has a 30Hz refresh rate, while the E60 has a 60Hz refresh rate. While the E60's refresh rate is higher, both cameras will provide smooth, crisp images and video of moving subjects. The difference between 30Hz and 60Hz is not as significant as the difference between these higher rates and a very low refresh rate like 9Hz. Temperature measurement range is almost the same for these cameras - the E75 goes up to a maximum of 1200 °F, compared to 1202 °F on the E60. The minimum temperature for both is -4 °F. The E75 is also capable of automatic and manual focus so you can dial in your images from any distance greater than about 6 inches when not using MSX (minimum focus is increased when using MSX).The E75 also has a built-in laser distance meter to give you the most accurate focus. On the E60, you don't get auto focus capability and must use manual focus for all images. Both cameras also share FLIR’s powerful MSX Image Enhancement technology which embosses visible details onto thermal images, giving you unmatched sharpness in your IR images where numbers, labels, and structural elements are clearly visible. Both cameras also include a built-in LED flashlight which is required for sharp MSX images in darker areas. The E75 and E60 also support interchangeable lenses from FLIR. On the E75 and other newer models in the Exx Series, lenses will auto-calibrate so you can change lenses on the fly at any time. No more sending the camera for calibration just to change a lens! The E60 does support swappable lenses, but they are the old style which require calibration every time a lens is changed - this can be a big drawback in the field. Want to know more?
