This turns out to be the perfect, easy to use, meter that we need for a specific project. We needed something small, durable and reliable to check the temperature and deck moisture in the application of a new roofing product. This works well, and we've purchased a second one for redundancy.

Not the best meter

I don't like this unit for several reasons. First the sensor pad is large and flat making it difficult to get a reliable reading on an irregular surface like popcorn ceiling. Second there is no visible red/green/yellow light to indicate moisture content at a glance. My previous meter had this and now that I no longer have it I miss it. The reason this is important is that in checking baseboards or sheetrock along the floor, you have to bend down to see the readout clearly to know the moisture level. I programmed the alarm to sound at a certain level, but I don't trust it. Lastly there is no way to calibrate the device other than sending it to the MFR. My unit now reads 8.4 (internal mode) when held in the air. I just don't trust the accuracy.

Product: This is a great multifunction meter, accurate, and takes the place of two meters for the price of one: a surface moisture meter, and thermo/hygrometer. Add the laser temperature reading ability as a bonus.
(The other review on this product is either inaccurate or for a different item: the MO290 does NOT have blue tooth!
Price: The sale they ran on this item beat out prices I found for used equipment on a popular auction site. Reviews of the company on other sites are also very positive.

This is a great moisture meter the blue tooth function works great with my Flir E50 thermal camera to import the moisture date into the picture. Well worth the extra money.
