DeFelsko MetrologyReplicaTape - Testex Replica Tape for Precision Metrology
- For use with precision optical instruments including electron and interferometric microscopes
- Used in a range of scientific and industrial applications to obtain permanent surface replicas
- Metallization increases the replica's reflectivity
- Ideal for measuring on costly, complex, and delicate instruments
- Each roll of Tape includes 50 pieces (impressions)
Metallized Testex Press-O-Film replica tape can be used in a range of scientific and industrial applications to obtain simple, accurate, and permanent surface replicas easily studied with precision optical instruments including electron and interferometric microscopes. Metallization increases the replica’s reflectivity with a thin flash of indium. Not suitable for use with dial type micrometer thickness gages. Used for applications in which replicas are analyzed using precision metrology laboratory techniques.
In the flexographic printing industry metallized replica tape is used with interferometric optical profilers to check the wear on printing rolls. It is preferable to measure a replica, rather than the original, because of the cost, complexity, and delicacy of these instruments. Replica tape makes it possible to bring the surface to the measuring device.
