amprobe lcr55a Induct/Cap/Resist meter

This is a nicely designed product with wide ranges that are useful for electronics design and testing. Inductance starts from 200uH, which is really useful for high frequency coil design. Resistance starts at 20 ohms and the zero control is very handy. Capacitance ranges from just a few pF to 2000uF. Also, very handy. The removable alligator clips are a nice feature. I added a second set of test leads and labeled one pair for caps/induct and the other pair for ohms and left them connected continuously. I had an identical Meterman LCR55 for nearly 10 years before something inside popped while I was testing a 100uF 250 volt electrolytic. I am disappointed that the internal 1A fuse did not blow and protect the instrument. On power-up, the LCD remains blank and, inside, nothing was burned. It's possible that a diode or some other small discrete component got whacked. I'll never know.

VERY HANDY PORTABLE METER. I USE IT PRIMARILY TO TEST CAPACITORS AND HAVE FOUND IT QUITE RELIABLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WORKING WITH AIR CONDITIONERS OR ANY OTHER APPLICATION OF CAPACITOR START MOTORS. METER HAS MANY OTHER USES IN TESTING RESISTANCE.
