FLIR is perhaps the most well-known manufacturer of thermal cameras worldwide. MSX is the company's version of thermal fusion technology. MSX stands for Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging. This technology embosses digital camera detail onto thermal video and stills for unmatched thermal clarity and easier target identification with no affect on temperature data.
Check out this video from FLIR to see the full benefits of MSX technology.
How Does MSX Work?
Unlike other thermal fusion systems which insert a thermal image into a visible-light picture, FLIR MSX extracts the high-contrast highlights generated by the thermal camera's built-in digital camera and overlays them with the infrared image in real time.
The results are impressive:
As you can see, MSX enhanced thermal images give you vastly more detail in industrial thermal imaging environments. A separate digital image is no longer neccessary because MSX combines digital and thermal images so well.
