OWL Reporter Software

OWL Reporter Software is included FREE with both Fiber OWL and Micro OWL optical power meters. The latest version of the software can be downloaded from this website. The software has a user friendly graphical interface and runs under Windows95 or Windows98. Data can be downloaded from your meter directly into the software with the serial cable provided with your meter. Once downloaded, the data can be selectively viewed, printed, and saved.

There is a summary view for quick pass/fail results or a more detailed view showing all information for a specific fiber run. Sorted certification reports can be printed in either summary or detail views. The data can be stored as a separate file or be merged with an existing data file.

         -- for use with Fiber OWL meters, firmware version 2.xx and later
  • OWL Reporter v1.9.0
         -- for use with Micro OWL meters, and with Fiber OWL meters with firmware version
            1.xx and earlier
  • Direct Access Objects (DAO)
         -- download DAO if you are having trouble downloading meter data to your PC
When running the OWL Reporter installation you will be prompted to choose the firmware of your meter. If you are unsure of the firmware version, follow the steps below:
  1. Press the ON button on your meter
  2. After the owl flies across the initial bootup screen, a screen like the one below will appear. The version number appears at the bottom of the display (shown below within the red box).
