I use this to check the skin on my Airstream trailer for AC hot due to miss wired park receptacles. I have an Automatic Implanted Cardio Defibullator and electrical shocks are a concern. I have also read where children have been electrocuted this way.

I used this while dong a kitchen / bathroom remodel. We tore everything down to the studs and installed additional outlets and ceiling lights. As a DIYer being able to dbl check the absence of electricity on on each outlet and cable before working with it was very impotant. I like it that it has a visual and an audible signal plus it's compact, simple design is easy to store and easy to use. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is a nervous around electricity but was much more confidant while using this tester. This is a must for all homes.
